Independence Day Celebration – How will you
#BeeRevolution? Add a personalized ribbon to a
ag-shaped “Declarations Wall” on the outdoor plaza

Birthday Party with Betsy Ross & Termini Brothers
Bakery – Celebrate America’s birthday where it all began!
Watch as the iconic Termini Brothers Bakery sta
decorate a spectacular ve-tier cake live onsite beginning
at 9 a.m., while arranging 2,500 red, white, and blue
cupcakes into the shape of an American ag. At 1 p.m.,
Betsy Ross arrives with a fe-and-drum procession to lead
the crowd in singing “Happy Birthday” to America, before
distributing the cake and cupcakes for FREE!

Meet the Revolution – is summer, explore the voices,
viewpoints, and experiences of the diverse people of
the Revolutionary era. Inside the Museum and on the

make history come alive through theatrical performances,
dynamic storytelling, and hands-on demonstrations.

Independence Square, 11:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m.:
Re-enactment of the First Public Reading of the
Declaration of Independence – On July 8, 1776 Colonel
John Nixon strode to a platform in the State House yard
(now Independence Square) and shared the stunning news
of the Declaration of Independence with the crowd. Help
celebrate this historic occasion and join the crowd to hear
a commemorative reading of the document by a park
ranger portraying Colonel Nixon. Free copies will be
given out so that you can follow along and cheer or jeer.

a visitor-friendly public transit service that
provides access to 20 stops located near
must-see attractions, museums, and
historic sites throughout Philadelphia.
e PHLASH is now running daily for the
summer season, through September 2, with service to
each stop every 15 minutes from 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
At just $2 per ride or $5 per day, PHLASH is the most
aordable way to get around. Children four and under,
senior citizens, and SEPTA Key, TrailPass, and TransPass
holders always ride free. Passes are available for purchase
onboard with exact cash only; online, or at any Visitor
Center location.
On July 4, the PHLASH will operate a detoured route
and schedule.
